Privacy Policy

Yapp records a short voice note after a job and turns it into written job details. This policy explains what the app collects, where it goes, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
- Voice recordings you make in the app.
- Transcripts of those recordings.
- Job details taken from what you said — vehicle, job type, amount, payment method, location, and notes.
- Customer details, if you choose to say them: a name and a phone number. These fields can be switched off entirely in the app.
- Photos you attach to a job.
- Your email address, from Apple, Google, or the address you sign up with.
Where it goes
Recordings are sent to Groq for transcription, and the transcript is sent to Groq again to pull out the job details. Groq processes the audio and text to return a result. See Groq's privacy policy.
Job details, transcripts and your account are stored in Google Firebase. Recordings and photos are stored in Cloudflare R2. Both hold the data so it survives losing or replacing your phone.
A copy is kept on your device so the app works without a signal.
Customer information
If you record a customer's name or phone number, you are responsible for having a reason to hold it. Both fields can be switched off in the app, and nothing is collected for a field that is switched off — it is not stored, and the transcription service is not asked to look for it.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share it with advertisers.
- We do not use your recordings or job details to train our own models.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete account removes everything: the jobs and recordings on your phone, the photos in storage, your saved settings, and the account itself. It cannot be undone.
A single job can be deleted by swiping it in the list, which removes its recording and photos with it.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it. We do not expire or archive your jobs.
Children
Yapp is a tool for tradespeople and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will tell you before the change takes effect.
